As a well-funded early-stage startup, Gruve offers a dynamic environment with strong customer and partner networks.About The RoleGruve is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our team in Edison, NJ. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about learning and selling innovative AI solutions.As a BDR, you will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective customers interested in transforming their existing SOC into an AI-powered SOC. You will play a critical role in building pipeline, initiating customer relationships, and supporting the sales team in driving revenue growth.Key ResponsibilitiesProspecting & Lead GenerationIdentify and research target accounts within cybersecurity, IT, and enterprise segmentsDevelop outbound strategies including cold calling, email campaigns, and LinkedIn outreachGenerate and qualify new leads aligned with Gruve’s AI-powered SOC solutionsMaintain a consistent pipeline of high-quality opportunitiesCustomer Engagement & QualificationInitiate conversations with key decision-makers (CISOs, SOC leaders, IT heads)Understand customer pain points related to SOC operations and cybersecurity challengesQualify leads based on business needs, technical fit, and buying readinessSchedule meetings and demos for Account ExecutivesSolution PositioningArticulate the value proposition of AI-powered SOC transformationEducate prospects on Gruve’s offerings and how they address modern security challengesTailor messaging based on industry, customer maturity, and use caseCollaboration & Pipeline ManagementWork closely with sales and marketing teams to align outreach strategiesTrack activities, pipeline, and performance metrics in CRM systemsProvide feedback on campaign effectiveness and lead qualityContinuous Learning & Market AwarenessStay up to date on AI trends, cybersecurity landscape, and SOC transformation strategiesParticipate in training sessions and enablement programsContinuously refine sales techniques and messagingBasic Qualifications5–7 years of experience in business development, sales development, or inside salesProven track record of meeting or exceeding lead generation or sales targetsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to quickly learn and articulate technical concepts (AI, cybersecurity, SaaS)Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)Highly motivated, self-starter with a strong work ethicWillingness to work on-site in Edison, NJ (5 days per week)Preferred QualificationsExperience selling or supporting sales in cybersecurity, SaaS, or AI solutionsFamiliarity with SOC operations, threat detection, or security toolsPrior experience targeting enterprise or mid-market customersStrong research and account-based prospecting skillsBachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related fieldExperience in AI and emerging technology sales from past positionsSalary Range $90,000 - $100,000 USD+ Benefits This is a full-time opportunity with Gruve and is a 5-day onsite role based out of the Edison, New Jersey office.‍Why GruveAt Gruve, we foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
