Summer Student CTE Human Resources Intern - District Support
Reports to: Work Based Learning CoordinatorSalary: Position hourly rate at District Support minimum wage ($17.13)Dates: June 23rd - August 6th (Tuesday-Thursday)Hours: 4 hours per day, 3 days a week. Hours 8:00am - 12:00pm.Position Summary: The Summer Student CTE (Career & Technical Education) Human Resources Intern will support the Human Resources and Payroll departments in a variety of administrative and project-based tasks related to recruitment, employee onboarding, and district operations. Student interns will gain exposure to the core functions of HR in a public school district, including professional communication, confidentiality, and the importance of equitable and efficient employee services. Student interns will also participate in observational and interactive learning activities designed to develop career readiness and HR-related competencies.Qualifications:16-18 years oldCurrent or graduating Marysville School District studentAvailability during the times below:Dates: June 23rd - August 6th (Tues-Thurs) 4 hours per day, 3 days a weekHours 8:00am - 12:00pmReliable transport to Service CenterDesired Skills:Willingness and ability to work as a member of the Human Resources team to support daily functions and projects.Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.Demonstrated interest in learning about human resources, employee services, and district operations.Ability to communicate professionally and clearly in written and verbal forms.Demonstrated proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar).Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.Willingness to take initiative and complete assigned tasks such as note-taking, digital organization, and documentation.Collaborative thinker and active listener with a growth mindset.Cultural Responsiveness: Ability to demonstrate respect for all cultural backgrounds and participate in a welcoming, inclusive work environment.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described are representative of those a student intern may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Interns will work in an office setting and may assist with document organization, meeting documentation, and computer-based tasks. The intern may need to sit for extended periods, move file boxes weighing up to 20 pounds, and navigate various school and district office spaces. The intern may also interact with staff from different departments and should be prepared to engage professionally in person, by phone, and via email.
