CPC Billing Specialist

Job Summary:Coding Responsibilities:Review complex clinical documentation and diagnostic results to accurately assign: ICD-10-CM, CPT codesEnsure maximum reimbursement and regulatory compliance for our anesthesia department. Includes coding the following services:o Anesthesiao Critical Careo Pain management - Acute Pain, Pain Procedures, Surgical Cases, Office E/MA/R specialist:Follow-up on outstanding claims timely and secure payment - unpaid, short-paid, credits and denials.Perform reconsiderations, appeals, corrected claims or resubmission as appropriate to resolve claims. Call insurance companies and complete claims activities on insurance portals to assist in resolving claims.Receive insurance correspondence (such as letters and remits) and handle timely.Appropriately notate all billing and collection efforts in EPICAccurately re-verify insurance and update insurance on patient registration.Receive and return patients' billing-related phone calls promptly, utilizing appropriate etiquette, respect and confidentiality.Receive and process credit/debit payments and set-up payment plans.Minimum Qualifications:High school degree and CPC certification with two years medical billing experience. Must be certified as a medical coder through AAPC or AHIMA.Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience. Would consider CPC-A with experiencePreferred Qualifications:Minimum of two years coding experience in a health care organization in addition to Accounts Receivable background.Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy, Strong knowledge of coding guidelines and compliance, effective communicator and collaborator, and proactive problem-solver who takes initiative.EPIC Experience preferred.Work Days:Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pmMessage to Applicants:Our benefits package includes health, dental and vision insurance, eligibility for employer 401k funding after 1 year (3% quarterly/5% annual on vesting schedule), tuition reimbursement, generous paid time off, including vacation and personal time, paid sick leave, holidays and floating holidays.G4: $20.00 - $35.50Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only.
