Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Experience with neuro, ortho, robotics, gynecology, urology, spine, and general procedures Description: The unit has 7 beds, including 1 heart room and 6 general surgical rooms. Ratios are 1 nurse to 1 patient. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner - Surginet. The charge nurse is a clinical coordinator. Nurse aides, surgical techs, and anesthesia techs are available for support. Weekend rotation is required, with call on weekends. Holiday call is also part of the responsibility. Scrub colors are provided. Telemetry is managed by Phillips equipment. Ventilators are from Draeger. There are 3 anesthesiologists on staff. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Pharmacy services are also available 24/7. Shifts are 8 hours long, with times of 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Night shift call may be required. Floating to other units is not applicable. Floor-specific orientation lasts for 1 week. Common diagnoses and types of patients are similar to preoperative, except for endo IR. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts during the 13-week assignment. Charting is done through Cerner. BSN is not required. Trauma Level is noted, and the care setting is acute.
