Family Engagement Coordinator

DescriptionThe Family Engagement Coordinator position supports the PREPARES Pregnancy and Parenting program by facilitating weekly group offerings for families in Spanish and English and providing targeted family engagement support. Key functions of this position include the adaptation of existing lesson plans, data collection, and coordinated resource navigation to support group offerings that are engaging, culturally responsive, and supportive for families. The Family Engagement Coordinator provides families with information, resources, connections, and support to promote optimal development outcomes.Responsibilities:Group Facilitation and Direct ServiceFacilitate two weekly 90 minute groupsDisseminate streamlined lesson plans using established curriculum.Provide families with information, resources, and referrals during group sessions.Data Collection and ReportingCollect required data related to participating families per program guidelines.Complete brief post group summaries documenting engagement and key outcomes.Prepare a concise monthly summary highlighting collective group outcomes and trends.Conduct and disseminate parent surveys per project guidelines.Community and Family EngagementBuild and maintain relationships with participating caregivers and families.Coordinate basic resource navigation supportCoordinate with PREPARES volunteers to support families in accessing essential needs ensuring timely and responsive follow up aligned with program guidelines.General Program SupportEstablish and nurture collaborative relationships with caregivers, young parents, community partners and colleaguesProvide resources to parents/caregivers and their children that increase stability and readiness for learning.Utilize and support the continuity of care, sustainability and quality of general operationsSupport the continuity of play groups by consistent communication and shared arts, craft, and theme ideas with other facilitators in the program.Support the recruitment of vulnerable young pregnant and parenting families.Participate in special projects as requested by program manager or regional directorCoordinate activities with internal team and external partners as needed to promote quality of care for children, families, and caregivers.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsJob Requirements:The following requirements are those that are normally required for performance in this position. Any disabled applicant or incumbent who does not meet one or more of the requirements, but who can perform the essential functions of the job (with or without reasonable accommodations) shall be deemed to meet these requirements.Physical Requirements:This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting, driving, or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, talking and hearing and adequate vision on a regular basis to perform the job requirements.Non Physical Requirements:EducationHigh School Diploma, requiredExperienceMinimum of 2 years experience in early childhood education required or providing services, or education to families is requiredExperience working with vulnerable populations is highly desirableSpecial SkillsProficiency in writing, reading, and speaking Spanish and English requiredStrong interpersonal skills including written and verbal communicationCommitment to working with marginalized populations and supporting diversity, inclusion, and cultural relevancyProficient with Microsoft Office suiteAbility to work independently, as a team member, and a collaborative partnerAbility to represent the agency in a professional mannerKnowledge of Central Washington region and resourcesAbility to present information formally and informally in large and small groupsLicensure, Registration, CertificationValid Washington State driver's license and minimum required liability insurance for WA StateMust be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities' liability insurance providerEmployment is conditional upon:Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when requiredWork Schedule: Monday, 8:30am to 5:00pm; Tuesday, 8:30am to 4:00pm; & Wednesday, 8:30am to 2:00pm (20 hours week)Wage Range: $22 to $27 hour, depending on experienceBenefits:Sick leave accrues at 1 hour of leave for every 40 hours workedEmployees can contribute to 403(b) retirement planEligibility for medical insurance if working 30+ hours per week, on average
