Principal, ElementaryEmployment Term (days): 220Pay Scale: Principal/Assistant Principal - 4Primary Purpose:Champion the district's vision of "Achieving Excellence for All" on campus and in the community. Direct and manage instructional programs and supervise operations and personnel at campus level. Provide leadership to ensure high standards of instructional service. Oversee compliance with district policies, success of instructional programs and operation of all campus activities.Qualification Guidelines:Education/Certifications:Master's degree in educational administration or related fieldValid Texas Standard Principal Certificate or other appropriate SBEC certificateTexas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) certified (or willing to obtain)Experience:Five years' experience as a classroom teacher or instructional leaderSpecial Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Thorough knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessmentAbility to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectivenessDemonstrates professionalism, empathy, and presumes positive intent in all interactions Ability to lead through collaboration, delegate effectively, and foster shared ownershipAbility to manage budget and personnelAbility to coordinate campus functions and support operationsAbility to interpret policy, procedures, and dataStrong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skillsIf assigned to a Bilingual or Dual-Language Campus, ability to clearly communicate (verbal and written) in both English and SpanishSupervisory Responsibilities:Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff assigned to campus including but not limited to: assistant principal(s), teachers(s), counselor(s), librarians(s), instructional aides, clerical support staff, and custodians.
