POSITION OVERVIEW
The Controls Engineer II will develop, deploy, and improve Gentex automated manufacturing systems.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Provide professional, expert-like support for new and existing automated systems.
Monitor and define areas of improvement within existing automated equipment.
Develop PLC programs and software for new and existing equipment.
Create electrical and pneumatic schematics.
Evaluate and specify hardware and software for automated equipment.
Work with other Engineers to standardize automated and programming solutions across similar equipment.
Support engineering team members in the development of new processes for manufacturing.
Educate and train production support teams during equipment or software launch.
Research and develop new solutions for automated equipment.
Other duties as assigned.

WHAT TO BRING
4-year Engineering degree, or combination of education and equivalent controls engineering experience.
At least 3 years of experience designing, programming or integrating automated equipment.
Experience with robotics applications.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
WHAT WILL HELP
Experience with either AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical
Experience with programmable motion systems and robotics
The ability to read and troubleshoot electrical schematics
Exceptional troubleshooting skills, with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic aptitude
