Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney (Chicago)

I'm currently partnering with a highly sophisticated private client law firm that's looking to add a Trusts & Estates Associate to its Chicago office.This is a strong opportunity for an associate attorney seeking more sophisticated UHNW work in a collaborative, lower-billable environment. The practice represents ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, family offices, and business owners on complex domestic and international estate planning matters, often involving clients in the $50M-$500M+ range.The group offers big law caliber work with a more sustainable structure, around 1600 billable hours, hybrid flexibility, and strong long-term growth potential.Responsibilities:Draft estate planning documents including revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, GRATs, SLATs, ILITs, and related planning structuresAssist with sophisticated wealth transfer, tax, charitable, and business succession planning mattersSupport trust and estate administration matters, including fiduciary issues and related filingsWork closely with partners, family offices, accountants, financial advisors, and outside advisorsAssist with international private client and cross-border planning matters where applicableMaintain meaningful client interaction responsibilitiesQualifications:Approximately 3+ years of trusts & estates experienceStrong estate planning and drafting backgroundExperience working with high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth clients preferredIllinois bar admission requiredStrong communication and client-facing skillsIf you'd be interested in learning more confidentially, feel free to reach out to me directly at k.stewart@veritalsearch.com or (312) 682-9492.
