Candidates must be local to the Tampa and surrounding areas, particularly near Bartow or Plant City, FL. This position will require the candidate to gain full knowledge of the Steam Operations including preventative maintenance, maintenance and process operations. Good mechanical and problem-solving skills are a plus.DESIRED SKILLS:Must have a positive attitude and strong mechanical aptitudeMust be able to multitask, stay organized, detailed and focused and show a high level of initiativeAbility to identify and then implement process and productivity improvements.Ability to complete paperwork in English accurately and completely, understand the importance of detail and accuracyAbility to work in and promote a teamwork environment.Ability to communicate effectively to team members and management.Must be able to learn quickly, retain knowledge and follow instructions.Other duties as assigned by supervisorEDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:5 years of boiler operations experienceKnowledge of and experience working with hazardous materialsHazardous Materials Handling and Shipping HazmatBasic knowledge of mechanical and electrical motor skills.Basic knowledge of water chemistry.LIST of DUTIES:This list is an outline of day to day functions of the Boiler Operator but the job is not limited to these functions.Ensure strict adherence to all safety procedures and regulations.Ensure compliance to all quality practices.Performing field operations including but not limited to checklists, instrument readings, and any quality related issuesPerforming preventive maintenance inspections on equipmentPreparing equipment for maintenance and routine servicePerforming housekeeping and cleaning in and around process areaShutting down the Steam Operations Process in the event of an emergencyAssisting the other Plant Operators as neededWorks with the facility operations team on process and operations to identify needs to maximize capacity utilizationLearning, observing, and following all department safety and housekeeping rules, regulations, and practicesReporting all hazards and unsafe conditions or practices for corrective actionMaintaining accurate records for items measurements, readings and issues.Conduct inventory and maintain inventory at proper levelAdvanced troubleshooting skills (pumps, filters, tanks, spargers, etc.)Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and take corrective action within an industrial settingADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Perform duties as necessitated by employee absence of workload.Possess a strong commitment to and respect for Safety and Environmental issues requiring close attention to detail and processes.Must be able to work in an industrial environment exposed to weather conditions: heat, cold wind, rain, high humidityMust be able to work with others or alone without close supervisionMust be able to work overtime as needed on a short noticeAbility to wear and work in full body PPE (personal protection equipment)Must be able to pass criminal background and drug test.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Physical activities are pushing, pulling, moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and stooping, kneeling, crouching or climbingStand for long periods on hard surface: including concrete, tile, metal gratingSit for long periodsUse hand/eye coordination for detail workReach with hands and armsClimb stairsClimb laddersMaintain balanceWork while standing on an uneven surfaceTwistingBending
