Commercial Real Estate and Land Use AttorneyA full service law firm with a strong Real Estate and Land Use practice is seeking a Senior Associate to join its growing team.The firm represents developers, businesses, lenders, and public entities across complex property development matters, advising on the full lifecycle of projects, from acquisition and financing through to approvals, incentives, and related disputes.The platform combines deep regulatory knowledge with a commercially driven approach, supporting clients through sophisticated real estate transactions and redevelopment initiatives.The RoleThe firm is seeking an experienced Senior Associate with 5+ years of real estate transactional experience. This individual will work closely with partners and clients on complex commercial real estate matters and will play a key role in managing transactions from inception through to closing or approval.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise clients across all phases of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, leasing, financing, and redevelopmentDraft and negotiate key transactional documents including purchase agreements, loan documentation, leases, easements, and joint venture agreementsSupport and attend closings, working closely with partners and clientsLead and oversee due diligence processes, including title, survey, and environmental reviewAdvise on land use and zoning matters, including site plan and variance applicationsPrepare and review land use applications for submission to relevant authoritiesRepresent clients before planning boards, zoning boards, and governing bodiesProvide day to day legal advice to developers, municipal stakeholders, and commercial clientsHandle real estate related disputes, including title matters and related proceedingsMonitor regulatory developments and advise clients on potential impact to projectsCollaborate with internal teams across related practice areas (e.g. environmental, litigation, public law)Mentor junior lawyers and oversee workflow and deliverablesMaintain accurate case files, billing records, and client communicationsRequirementsJ.D. from an accredited law schoolAdmission to practice in New Jersey required; New York admission advantageous5+ years experience in commercial real estate and land use mattersStrong experience with land use, zoning, and redevelopment frameworksProven ability to manage complex transactions and client relationshipsExcellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skillsExisting client relationships or portable business beneficialCommercially minded with strong analytical and problem solving abilityHighly organised with strong project management skillsProficiency in standard legal research tools and Microsoft OfficeSelf starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who thrives in a collaborative environmentAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretionAdditional InformationFull-time positionOffice based in New JerseyCompensation is flexible and will be based on experience and any portable businessBenefits include comprehensive healthcare, retirement plan, and performance-related upside Interested?
