What You Will Do:
The Production Operator - Assembly you will build a variety of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies and components for use in the aerospace industry. The role performs a variety of complex technical tasks, assembly, troubleshooting and audits on electrical assemblies. The individual will assemble component and/or subassemblies in conformance to drawing and quality standards. The individual may exercise independent action and initiative, and may also provide support, and follow direction from Supervisor/Manager, Team Lead, Engineering Aides and Inspection personnel. This position will have direct contact with, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Test Engineering, Calibration, and Supervision.
Primary Responsibilities:
Build assemblies as directed by supervisor or team lead in conformance to drawing and quality standards while adhering to documented production time standards if applicable.
Adhere to lot traceability and general inventory practices.
Works from Engineering or Quality drawings, specifications, standards, test procedures, and verbal instructions to determine product or procedure acceptance.
Will be responsible for validating that build and inspection equipment is calibrated and/or qualified as Fit-for-Use.
Understanding of lot traceability and general inventory practices.
Will be responsible to perform self-audits of workstation or as directed to ensure compliance to system and specification requirements.
Takes initiative to define and recommend improvement opportunities
Recognize deviations from standard drawings/practices
Assembly requirements may include: soldering, crimping, wire harnessing, basic testing, visual inspection
May perform inspection of complex assemblies and systems for conformance to drawing and quality standards.
May perform basic troubleshooting of complex assemblies, assembly tools, tooling, and test equipment associated with production product, upgrades, & reworks.
May perform visual, dimensional, electrical, functional, and optical inspections per specified documentation.
May be assigned tasks by supervisor/manager such as Fit-for-Use, Shelf Life and Calibration.
May assist Quality Engineers or Assembly Supervisors with design, inspection, and building of inspection tools and test equipment and/or creation of work standards.
Performs special projects/tasks as assignedPreferred Education
High school diploma or equivalent. Technical degree a plus.Preferred Experience
2 years' related industry experience required
Knowledge of lighting and test equipment preferred.
Knowledge of and preferably trained in IPC-A-610/-620, J-STD-001Preferred Specialized Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and lighting standards used to measure product performance on the product line.
Strong communication skills
Knowledge of reading, interpreting, and implementing blueprints, schematics and drawings in English
Must have a keen attention to detail; hand and eye coordination
Works cooperatively in a team environment and effectively communicate with others
Participates in problem solving teams to develop process improvements
Willing to work extra hours, and potentially weekends
Must have computer skills and knowledge; ability to perform all computer-related functions as applicable to the designated production areas without direction or supervision.
Has a understanding of Lean principles
May require certifications, example - J-STD-001, IPC-610, IPC-620Physical Requirements:
Frequent use of personal computers, database and digital platforms, and other office productivity machinery, such as copy machines and computer printers.
Frequently uses hands, fingers, and arms to reach, handle, touch or feel equipment, materials, and computer.
The person in this position needs to frequently move inside the office
Frequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Occasionally use of steps, or ladder.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Seldom to occasionally position self to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Salary Range: Please note the typical hiring range is $23.91 - $28.13 Hourly. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity
