Job Title: Pediatric Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience required. License: Must have active state nursing license to apply. Certifications: BLS and PALS required. Must-Have: Pediatric MedSurg and Pediatric Step Down/Telemetry experience. Experience with hyperbilirubinemia and insulin administration. Experience in breastfeeding support and handling of breast milk. Experience with oral/nasogastric tube placement and feedings. Peripheral IV care and management. Pediatric dosage calculations. Oral/nasal suctioning and oxygen delivery systems. Infection prevention and isolation precautions. Wound assessment and care. Experience with EMR systems. Description: The position requires a Pediatric Registered Nurse. The shift is nights from 18:00 to 06:30. The unit consists of 11 rooms and 16 beds. New graduates are accepted. Nurses will work every other weekend. Candidates will float as needed within scope to meet facility needs. The facility accommodates scheduling requests. Candidates must have experience in Pediatric MedSurg and Pediatric Step Down/Telemetry. Nursing skills required include management of chest tubes and NG tube insertion. The daily patient care will include demographics from neonates to adolescents. Daily census may range from 1-6 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, and pharmacy services. Special procedures may include outpatient catheterization and assisting with challenging pediatric lab draws. The environment may involve floating to adult units if the pediatric census is low. Professional development and continuing education are emphasized. The nurse must demonstrate professionalism in all interactions. Collaboration with a healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care is essential. Attention to infection control protocols is required.
