Junior Electrical EstimatorWaterbury, CT - Onsite Work Model: In-office with occasional site walk-throughsA well-established commercial electrical contractor is seeking a Electrical Estimator to support preconstruction and bidding efforts on complex commercial projects. This role is ideal for an estimator with hands-on electrical estimating experience who is looking to grow within a structured, high-performing preconstruction team.The organization focuses exclusively on commercial and mission-critical electrical construction, with a strong emphasis on healthcare and hospital systems. No residential work.Key Responsibilities:Read, interpret, and analyze electrical drawings, specifications, and bid documentsPerform detailed electrical quantity takeoffs and cost estimatesPrepare and complete all pre-bid documentationCoordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and quotesPrepare, submit, and follow up on bids — follow-up is critical to success in this roleRespond to RFIs and client questions during the preconstruction phaseIdentify scope gaps, risks, and pricing concerns within estimatesPresent bid risks and issues to senior leadership as neededParticipate in job site walk-throughs to confirm scope, materials, and site conditionsBuild and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, clients, and internal teamsManage multiple bids simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentQualifications:2–5 years of commercial electrical estimating experience (junior to mid-level)Strong understanding of electrical systems, drawings, and specificationsExperience performing electrical takeoffs and bid preparationAbility to manage deadlines while maintaining accuracyEstimating software experience requiredAccubid/ConEst strongly preferredBluebeam experience preferredE1 or E2 electrical license a plus, but not requiredSkills & Attributes:Strong attention to detail and follow-throughExcellent time management and prioritization skillsComfortable working in a collaborative, deadline-driven environmentStrong communication skills with vendors, clients, and internal stakeholdersAbility to identify and escalate risks during preconstructionWhat’s Offered:Competitive base salary: $75,000 – $120,000, depending on experienceAnnual profit-sharing program based on company performanceFlexible hours aligned with field schedulesLong-term growth opportunity within a stable, experienced estimating team
