The Recovery Specialist functions to support and guide community care services by developing and working a recovery plan model, including areas of daily functioning, social integration, and a plan for a task-ordered day. Services are provided in-home to adults diagnosed with severe mental disability. The Recovery Specialist also assists in the planning and development of outcome-effective recovery services. This position maintains an ongoing working knowledge of the recovery model of care and uses that knowledge to coordinate services. As applicable, Specialist responds to all emergencies and provides assurance of overnight security and safety of the home and residents. Qualifications Education Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED Additional requirements: Area of study or major: Healthcare or related field Preferred educational qualifications: Working Knowledge of community agencies and resources essential to the care of clients. Licensure/Certification/Registration CPR required Experience Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience Preferred experience: healthcare or related field Other experience requirements: behavioral health experience Knowledge/Skills Understanding of safety and infection control Must complete agency competencies. Must be able to read, write and follow written instructions and document care given. Must have a sincere interest and sympathetic attitude toward caring for the sick and disabled at home.
