This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work on critical projects that support communication infrastructure between internal, external, and third-party systems. As a Ruby Developer, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and maintaining production-grade APIs that ensure secure, reliable, and scalable data exchange. The ideal candidate is a seasoned Ruby on Rails engineer with extensive hands-on experience in API development, capable of contributing directly to production code while collaborating closely with technical leadership and engineering teams to meet strategic objectives.QualificationsMinimum of 6+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails development.Proficiency in designing, building, and maintaining APIs, including REST and GraphQL specifications.Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.Hands-on experience with testing frameworks, particularly RSpec.Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams while remaining actively involved in development tasks.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.U.S. citizenship is required for this position.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement APIs, including defining specifications, endpoints, data models, and ensuring adherence to best practices for REST and GraphQL.Develop and maintain robust, scalable Ruby services that support mission-critical operations.Conduct thorough code reviews to uphold code quality, security, and maintainability standards.Collaborate with Technical Leads, API Architects, and Engineering teams to align on technical standards, governance, and compliance requirements.Integrate APIs seamlessly with internal systems, external applications, and third-party services to facilitate smooth data exchange.Leverage AI-enabled development tools to enhance productivity, code quality, and automation.Create comprehensive API documentation to support ongoing maintenance and developer onboarding.Implement security best practices, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure development protocols.Monitor API performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize for reliability, scalability, and efficiency.Manage API versioning and ensure backward compatibility to support legacy systems and ongoing updates.Participate in Tier 1 and Tier 2 on-call rotations to address production incidents promptly and effectively.Collaborate with external engineering teams to ensure adherence to technical standards, governance, and compliance policies.BenefitsGrabJobs offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being and professional growth of our employees.
