See recruiter for eligibility details.]Job SummaryA Senior Civil Designer will lead various phases of planning, proposal preparation, site evaluations, analytical designs, report preparation, specifications, and preparation of construction documentation and environmental plans as part of a project team. This position will lead various projects with a diverse portfolio of project types and clients.Key ResponsibilitiesLead various civil project designs including site design, land development, roads, storm drainage systems, storm water management facilities, water and sanitary sewer utility design, sediment and erosion control, and traffic control, airports, and facility designLead drawing production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexityLead a variety of assignments using prescribed methods and standard techniques including drawing sequence and presentation, sizing various system components and refining rough sketchesLead the quality review of designs or sketches and mark-ups on ongoing projectsPresent reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other topographical and geologic data to plan design projectsInterpret design codes and specifications related to design requirementsLead design drawings within scope, budget and scheduleQuality review volume calculations for excavation, dredging, and upland site gradingIncorporate and approve schedules, budgets and project criteria into civil design and layouts for project financial goalsOrganize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical and well-structured mannerTrain, mentor, and develop staff membersParticipate in marketing and client development meetingsResponsible for the civil design QA/QC processPerform other duties as assignedComply with all policies and standardsEducation RequirementsBachelor Degree in drafting technology or related field (with 13 years related experience)OR Associate Degree (with 14 years related experience)OR 15 years progressive detailing and design experienceRequired Experience13 years related experience (with Bachelor Degree in drafting technology or related field)OR 14 years related experience (with Associate Degree)OR 15 years progressive detailing and design experience requiredField experience is desirableRequired SkillsAdvance understanding of design software such as: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Excel to develop the design deliverablesAdvance knowledge in design, calculations and design systemsAdvance knowledge in the theory and practices of civil discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline; and capable of operating related discipline design software necessary to execute production tasksWork collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectivesExcellent written & verbal communication skillsExcellent analytical and problem solving skills, and attention to detailBenefitsMedical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401k Retirement FundAbout GTTGTT is a minority-owned staffing firm and a subsidiary of Chenega Corporation, a Native American-owned company in Alaska.
