See recruiter for eligibility details.]Job Summary: The Senior Civil Engineer will lead the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting civil plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs. Lead civil design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.Key Responsibilities:Review civil vendor drawings; data interface with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, detailers, and designersParticipate in developing the project schedule, scope, budget, staffing planning, and construction planning. Responsible for the effective management of change ordersApplies expert knowledge of commonly used civil concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the civil engineering services industry. Compiles studies and reports. Writes specificationsApplies knowledge and experience to complex projects, find's/develops non-standard design solutionsQuality review production drawings for various projects and project-related data as required by the project managers to verify design compliance with project, client, and industry standards, including constructabilityQuality review of the construction administration, including coordination with field personnel to resolve design-related installation issues, calculations, field inspections, and testing of materialsLeads field inspections, installation, measurements, or calculations for public and private clientsPrepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publicationsBuild effective relationships with existing clients, customers, and contractors, and develop new business opportunities. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are metParticipate in sales and marketing efforts and identify, lead, and manage key pursuitsLead the development of cost proposals and qualification statements to achieve stated targets and standards for financial performancePrepare, present, and manage project budgets and cost estimates. Report project performanceProvide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the civil engineering practiceMentor and guide less experienced engineersResponsible for QA/QC process adherenceResponsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplinesResponsible for compliance with company and site safety policiesPerforms other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standardsEducation Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited programOR Bachelor's Degree in Civil or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examOR Master's Degree in Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) License PreferredRequired Experience:7 years of civil engineering experienceOR 7 years of Civil Engineering experience (with Bachelor's in Engineering Technology and FE exam completion)OR 6 years of civil engineering experience (with Master's Degree in Civil Engineering)Nice-to-Have Experience:EPC project experienceRequired Skills:Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and proceduresStrong computer skills including AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD, and/or hydraulic, hydrologic, pavement, and civil analysis programsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience with leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team membersAbility to lead the execution of work and resolve issues in a team environmentDemonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environmentStrong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skillsAbility to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specificationsAbility to travelBenefits:Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401k Retirement FundAbout GTT: GTT is a minority-owned staffing firm and a subsidiary of Chenega Corporation, a Native American-owned company in Alaska.
