This teacher will create an inclusive classroom environment and use a communicative approach to help students build real-world language skills.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction in French at various proficiency levelsDevelop students' language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writingIncorporate cultural content and authentic materials into lessonsUse a communicative and interactive approach to language instructionAssess student progress regularly and provide timely, constructive feedbackDifferentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needsMaintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environmentCommunicate effectively with students, parents, and colleaguesParticipate in curriculum development, faculty meetings, and professional developmentQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in French, World Languages, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)Demonstrated proficiency in French (native or near-native fluency preferred)Experience teaching at the high school level preferredStrong understanding of language acquisition and communicative teaching methodsExcellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skillsCommitment to fostering an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environmentCERTIFICATION: NYS teaching certification in French 7-12EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually by building administration.
