Purchasing Manager

We are seeking a Purchasing Manager who will be responsible for the purchasing, negotiating pricing of materials, equipment, and supplies in the organization taking into consideration cost, quality, and production time restraints. This is an in office position Responsibilities Responsible for purchasing material, parts, supplies and equipment in a timely and cost effective way; while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications. Forecast procurement needs, Manage Suppliers, and expedite product as required to ensure supply chain is uninterrupted Develop qualified supplier list and maintain list for ITAR Compliance Establish department practices and procedures. Ensure that purchasing documents are properly completed. Prepare purchase requisitions, obtain appropriate approval, and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions Negotiating with Suppliers to expedite product as needed Communicate with other departments regarding new product developments and the availability of material and supplies. Discuss defective or unacceptable new goods or services with users, vendors, and others to determine cause of problem and take corrective and preventative action Ensure supplier compliance with company requirements for quality, safety, and delivery. Manage supplier relationships and assist in building effective partnerships as an agent Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 5 years of Purchasing, Negotiating experience in a manufacturing setting. Strong analytical and negotiating skills. Confident, Persistent, Timely, Detail oriented, Multi-tasker Ability to work with suppliers and vendors directly through different channels of communication. Ability to thrive in a job shop – fast paced environment. Ability to work efficiently with computers, Microsoft Office and internet.
