Set-up OperatorWabtec is now hiring a set-up operator in Salem, VA. Pay rate: $25.50 $27.00 per hour. Shifts: 1st shift MondayThursday, 6:00 AM 4:30 PM; 2nd shift MondayThursday, 4:25 PM 2:55 AM. Experience setting up and operating CNC machines. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong math, computer, and problem-solving skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Work Environment & Physical RequirementsFrequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 lbs (occasionally up to 50 lbs). Exposure to noise, dust, and manufacturing conditions within OSHA standards. Repetitive movement, bending, reaching, and machine operation.How You'll Keep Production MovingSet up and operate CNC and conventional machining equipment. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and process sheets. Perform first-piece inspections and ensure quality using precision measuring tools. Select and install tooling, fixtures, and offsets. Monitor production, cycle times, and machine performance. Troubleshoot issues and report equipment malfunctions. Maintain accurate counts and meet production targets.
