Texas Development Director | Major Donor Fundraising | A Mission-Driven Opportunity to Expand God’s Kingdom

Company Description The Pocket Testament League is a global movement of Christ followers who are inviting millions to meet Jesus using the living Word of God. Since its inception in 1893 to 2018, over 130 million people had been invited to meet Jesus using Gospels of John. We do this through an energetic, collaborative culture that holds fast to God’s Word and is committed to excellence and innovation until all are invited to meet Jesus. From 2019 through 2025, almost 68 million people were invited to meet Jesus, not with a “tract”, but with the Living Word of God. 68 million – in just 5 years! Today, across more than 200 countries, our 100% remote team of less than twenty full-time equivalents has a goal to invite 1 billion people to meet Jesus in the next 10 years. Position Overview This role is open to candidates located in the United States, with a preference for those based in or near Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, or Austin. The Director of Development, Texas, is a key direct report to the National Director of Advancement responsible for securing philanthropic revenue within the assigned region by developing, managing, and growing a portfolio of donors aligned with The League’s mission. When this role is functioning well, revenue targets are met or exceeded, donor relationships deepen, and the regional portfolio shows a healthy pipeline. These results are accomplished across three broad areas: • Revenue: consistently delivers regional fundraising results by executing a disciplined donor development strategy through moves management. • Stewardship: ensures donors are known, valued, and appropriately developed through intentional, personal engagement. • Organizational Representation: serves as a trusted ambassador of The League to donors, churches, and partners in their region. Position Outcomes 1. Generate annual philanthropic revenue for the assigned region at a level appropriate to the existing portfolio and pipeline, growing the portfolio to 150–250 donors repre senting $500,000+ in portfolio value. 2. Increase year-over-year giving within the assigned portfolio through effective cultiva tion, solicitation, and stewardship. 3. Increase the number of donors who have a meaningful, ongoing relationship with The League, demonstrated by retention and upward giving movement. 4. Maintain a healthy regional pipeline by consistently identifying, qualifying, and ad vancing new donor relationships. Responsibilities & Accountabilities 1. Manage an active donor portfolio through disciplined moves management, including regular outreach, meaningful conversations, and documented next steps. 2. Maintain a high cadence of donor engagement, typically including a minimum of 30 meaningful contacts per week through phone calls, in-person visits, virtual meetings, emails/text messages, and written communication. 3. Accurately document donor interactions, insights, and next actions in the CRM to support forecasting, reporting, collaboration, and accountability. 4. Strategically build the portfolio by expanding the donor network, securing referrals, and proactively identifying and qualifying new prospects. 5. Develop and execute a regional fundraising plan aligned with organizational goals, tracking progress and adjusting strategies as needed. 6. Collaborate with advancement leadership and peers, leading from within by sharing insights, best practices, and market intelligence that strengthen the overall team. Required Competencies and Traits We’re looking for a self-driven fundraiser with a strong drive to develop new donors and grow long-term giving relationships. • Experienced: Brings minimum 10 years’ work experience with 3-5 years of direct major donor fundraising. • Process-Oriented: Operates with discipline and consistency, following established moves management practices while seeking continuous improvement. • Data-Informed: Uses donor data, portfolio insights, and performance metrics to guide cultivation and solicitation decisions and actions. • Virtually Competent: Excels in a fully remote environment, demonstrating experience in leveraging technology to communicate, collaborate, and execute effectively. • Mindful of Their Life and The League's: Demonstrates relational maturity, recognizing how their actions impact colleagues, supporters, and outcomes, and engages peers one to-one to resolve issues and meet deadlines. • Confidently Self-Critical: Demonstrates emotional intelligence and self-awareness, openly assessing performance and making adjustments to improve. • Proven Portfolio Management: Demonstrated experience developing and managing donor portfolios of 150–250 relationships, including meaningful solicitation and stewardship. • Relationship Builder: Able to quickly establish trust and credibility with donors and partners in diverse situations. • Strategic Communicator: Effectively articulates The League’s mission, impact, and vision in ways that resonate with donors and inspire generosity. • Goal-Driven: Comfortable setting ambitious goals, making clear asks, managing consistent outreach and travel, and taking ownership of results. • College-Educated Operator: Four-year college/university degree strongly preferred. • Travel Savvy: Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to meet donors, attend events, and represent The League within the assigned region.
