Lawn Maintenance Technician

Are you looking for a hands on job that allows you to work outdoors in nature? Greenlawn cemetery is an active historic cemetery in Columbus and is one of the oldest kept cemeteries in the state. We are looking to add maintenance technicians to our cemetery crew to keep the grounds beautiful and a place for tranquil peace for loved ones to gather. Job Description: Perform a variety of duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance, upkeep, beautification and repair of Cemetery Grounds Essential Responsibilities: Perform general maintenance and repairs to Cemetery Grounds. Operate powered equipment such as mowers, trimmers, edgers, sod cutters, chain saw etc. Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, clippers, saws etc. May install and maintain sprinkler systems, perform landscape construction and maintenance, including but not limited to mowing, aerating, pruning, landscape and planting trees, shrubs, sod flowers, and lawn seed. Clear walkways, driveways and park lots. Assist in burials at grave sites Meet performance standards established with the employee's manager. Perform other duties as assigned. Eligibility Requirements: Valid driver's license (PREFERRED) Knowledge maintenance equipment such as mowers, trimmers, etc. (PREFERRED) Motivated, self-starter who requires minimum supervision, but able to follow directions when required Ability develop effective working relationships with supervisor subordinates and public Ability to lift 75 pounds safely Ability to work in seasonal elements (heat, cold, rain, etc.) Safety precautions associated with equipment operations Job Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday through Saturday with overtime opportunities Pay: From $16 an hour
