Revenue Cycle Specialist – BillingLutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan (LSS)Finance Department | Hybrid (Every Thursday and in-office as needed)Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan (LSS) is seeking a Revenue Cycle Specialist – Billing to join our Financial Services team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, timely claim submission and compliance across multiple funding sources while supporting our mission-driven programs.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, review, and submit claims to Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, county/state funding, grants, and self-pay payersInvestigate and correct claim rejections related to eligibility, demographics, and codingVerify insurance coverage and update eligibility and authorizations as neededMaintain accurate billing records, generate statements, and document claim activity in the EHR systemCollaborate with program staff, QA, and AR Follow-Up to resolve billing issues and denial trendsReview unbilled and authorization reports to identify and resolve billing delaysAssist with month-end close and support financial auditsEnsure compliance with HIPAA, payer guidelines, and organizational policiesQualificationsHigh School Diploma required; Associate's degree or higher in accounting or related field preferredMinimum of 1 year of healthcare or behavioral health billing experience requiredWorking knowledge of ICD coding, EOBs, and electronic billing processesExperience with EHR and medical billing softwareStrong attention to detail, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and OutlookAbility to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and collaborate across teamsWhy Join LSS?Mission-driven organization serving diverse communitiesHybrid work environment (in-office as needed)Collaborative and supportive finance teamOpportunity to contribute to essential community-based servicesLutheran Social Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
