Laborer Journeyman - Class A CDL

Scope of PositionThe Vallejo Company is seeking an individual to join our team as general laborer with a background in the installation/repair/replacement of fiber optics lines. Depending on the division you may need additional skills in gas, water, sewer, asphalt, concrete as we provide full construction services. A Class A CDL w/ a tanker endorsement is required and the ability to locate for directional bore is preferred.Essential FunctionsCleaning and preparing construction sites.Loading and unloading materials and equipment.Building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures.Digging trenches, compacting earth, and backfilling holes.Operating and tending machinery and heavy equipment.Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans.Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties.Preferred Education, Experience, and SkillsPart of or willingness to join Local 860Has teamwork, communication, and strong listening skillsAdaptable to changes and ability to problem-solveExperience in the respected department you are seeking to joinBe physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath. Bend, stretch, twist, or reach out. Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.
