FinOps Engineer

Role Name: FinOps EngineerLocation: CharlotteJob DescriptionWe are seeking a FinOps Engineer with strong experience in cloud cost management and optimization, primarily within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Key Responsibilities:Monitor and optimize GCP costs and resource utilization using FinOps tools such as Apptio Cloudability and cloud cost management dashboardsConfigure and maintain Grafana dashboards and reporting solutions to visualize GCP usage metrics, cost trends, performance indicators, and operational insightsWork with GCP APIs such as Cloud Asset Inventory and BigQuery INFORMATION_SCHEMA to extract and analyze cloud dataCollaborate with engineering and platform teams to implement cost governance policies, tagging strategies, and resource optimization aligned with FinOps best practicesDevelop automated reporting and monitoring solutions for cloud spend visibility, budget tracking, and anomaly detection for proactive cost managementSupport BigQuery cost optimization, including slot consumption, reservation/quota management, and partitioning strategiesTune BigQuery SQL queries to resolve shuffle issues and reduce slot overutilizationDefine strategies for cost-efficient and optimized BigQuery data consumption"All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran."
