Registered Nurse
We have a great team of RNs to work with Inpatients, Observations, Swing Bed, and Emergency areas! We are a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital with an active ER. Currently there are day and night shift positions open.Job Summary: Render professional nursing services in the treatment and care of assigned patients in accordance with physicians’ orders. Provides for the comfort and well-being of patients by assessing condition, providing treatments and administering prescribed drugs and documenting progress and other observations. Coordinates nursing care for patients and participates in patient and family teaching. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Duties and Responsibilities:PATIENT CARE: Assess patient’s physical/psychosocial/learning/discharge needs and document those needs every shift or as directed. PLAN - Formulate and write nursing diagnosis based on assessment. Establish and write measurable short term and long-term goals. Write individualized Nurse Care Plan (NCP) upon patient’s admission within 24 hours. IMPLEMENTATION - Document that care is given in accordance to doctor’s orders and the NCP and that the care complies with policies and procedures. Practice and perform risk management safety according to hospital guidelines. Administer medications, IV’s, treatments as ordered for assigned patients and document according to policy. Provide patient/family with health care information via written/audiovisual aids and/or structured teaching program and document. EVALUATION – Document patient response to plan of care. Evaluate and update NCP as patient care need changes. Review and update patient’s acuity every shift. Evaluate physical care giver needs and instruct in nursing methods and procedures.COMMUNICATION: Provide for continuity of care by making rounds with oncoming staff members and conducting and/or participating in patient-centered conferences. Maintain “Guest Relations”.The RN has the opportunity to step into the role of Charge/Supervisor position once oriented. The position makes staff assignments based on acuity and nurses’ qualification. Assumes responsibility of ER and Pharmacy and follows policy and procedures. Investigates and intervene in problem situations and reports appropriate information. Coordinates unit activities. Provides guidance to staff/orients new staff/provides learning opportunities.
