Sales & Estimation Engineer – Wood Processing Equipment (Woodyard Systems)

Join ANDRITZ and support the delivery of world‑class wood processing systems across North America. In this technical customer‑facing role, you’ll combine engineering expertise with project coordination to develop high‑quality proposals for woodyard and biomass handling equipment.What You Will Do• Serve as the technical point of contact during the proposal phase, translating customer needs into engineered solutions.• Lead or support dimensioning, layout reviews, and equipment selection for wood yard systems (log cranes, debarking and chipping, screening, stackers/reclaimers, material handling among other notable woodyard equipment).• Prepare accurate technical and commercial quotations, ensuring competitive, profitable solutions.• Coordinate with engineering, sales, service, and product management teams to deliver complete proposals.• Support business development through customer visits, mill assessments, technical presentations, and occasional marketing initiatives.• Travel throughout North America for customer meetings (10–30%), with occasional global training.What We’re Looking ForEducation:• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial, Forestry, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field.• Equivalent industry experience also considered.Experience:• Hands-on experience in wood yard operations, pulp mills, woodyard equipment, material handling, or heavy industrial processing.• 2–5+ years in operations, maintenance, service, or technical engineering.• Experience with capital equipment or project coordination is a strong plus.Personal Qualities:• Strong communicator who enjoys customer interaction and problem‑solving.• Organized, detail‑oriented, and self-driven.• Comfortable managing multiple technical projects and deadlines.• Willing to travel and adapt to evolving customer requirements.Why ANDRITZ?You’ll work with advanced equipment that powers the pulp & paper industry—from debarkers and chipping lines to full wood handling systems.
