Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.This contract position is for a Special Education Teacher working with 3rd-5th grade Life Skills students in a school setting located in Salem, OR. The role involves managing a caseload of 12 students and focuses on delivering specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of each learner. The initial contract runs from now through March, with an opportunity for extension.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for 3rd-5th grade Life Skills studentsProvide targeted instruction and support to meet students social, emotional, and academic needsMonitor and assess student progress regularly, adapting teaching strategies as neededCollaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to enhance student outcomesMaintain accurate and detailed records compliant with school and state regulationsQualifications:Valid Special Education teaching credential or certificationExperience working with elementary Life Skills students, preferably grades 3-5Ability to manage a small caseload effectively and create inclusive, supportive learning environmentsStrong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with school teams and familiesAdditional Information:The contract covers the current period through March, with a possible extensionThere may be an additional opportunity starting in March for an elementary Life Skills position serving grades kindergarten through 3rd, with a similar caseload, extending through the remainder of the school yearInterested candidates with special education teaching experience and a passion for supporting Life Skills students are encouraged to apply for this rewarding contract opportunity working in Salem, OR.
