Description:THIS POSITION IS FOR WEEKENDS ONLY!! SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS DAY SHIFT AND NOC SHIFT AVAILABLE.Summary:Direct Care Staff is responsible for performing essential care for our members in our group homes and DTA under the direction of the Group Home Manager as well as the Program Coordinator. This is a safety sensitive positionEssential functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Responsible for Residents which includes:Provide for the safety, emotional and physical needs of all residentsEnsure residents are clean, well-groomed and dressed age appropriately and correctly for the season and environmental conditionsEnsure PCSP outcomes and data is implemented and documented according to the resident's PCSP every dayHelp residents cook meals and to eat as neededEnsure daily that residents are being emotionally and physically stimulated to the best of their abilityAssist with showering residents as needed to ensure a complete shower is givenAssist with resident laundry to ensure laundry is cleanPassing medications in group homes safelyDriving which includes:Drives vehicles following the driving policies and ensures that is compliant with insurance requirementsComplete the Vehicle check list dailyDaily maintenance checks of the vehicles (i.e. checking turn signals, cleanliness, fuel, etc.)Responsible for keeping signed documents (Med Appointment Forms) and returning to Home Coordinator upon completion of appointmentEscort and drive residents to appointments and activities as scheduled.Maintain a clean driving recordReport any changes to your driving record immediatelyResponsible for the Home which includes:Cleaning the home, including but not limited to all areas and resident bedroomsEnsure that all required documentation including but not limited to incident reports, PCSP goals, DSP daily duties etc. are completed before the end of shift.Must perform duties following safety standards required for this position including but not limited to use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE's i.e. gloves)Must attend all training sessions required by the company including but not limited to house meetings.Responsibility to the Company which includes:Being flexible in hours worked and location worked in order to assist with staff coverage if neededEnsuring that you maintain compliance in regard toArticle 9Prevention and SupportFingerprint Clearance CardCPR & 1st AidDriver's License is current and in good standingAdhere to and follow all directives and policy and procedures handed down by the CompanyEnsure that all required documentation including but not limited to ISP outcomes, Incident Reports, DSP daily duties etc. are completed before the end of shift.Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Competencies: These competencies are required to perform the essential functions of this position.Ability to work as a team memberAdaptability & Flexibility to work times as well as work locations to assist with staff coverage if neededAbility to positively interact with residents, their families, and administrative staffRecognize and be responsive to the needs of the residentsAbility to maintain proprietary and resident information confidentiallyAbility to maintain a calm, non-defensive, supportive attitude during crisis or potential crisis situationProficient verbal and written communication in English and ability to do so with tactMinimum Qualifications:MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDSHigh School or EquivalentMust have a clean driving record and be approvedFlexible hours to work times as well as work locations to assist with staff coverage if neededReliable transportation to work at any locationMust have or be capable of passing and maintaining Article 9 and Prevention and Support within 90 days of hireMust provide 39 month motor vehicle department (MVD) driving record by time of offerMust have or be capable of passing and maintaining CPR / 1st Aid within 30 days of hireMust have or be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Class 1 Fingerprint Clearance CardJob Requirements: For HR use onlyMust be at least 18 years of age.Must be able to maintain a class 1 fingerprint clearance card.Must abide by company policies and proceduresEmployees must be able to verbally communicate in English, i.e. be able to understand what is being said to him/her in English. Must be able to use the English language so that what he/she is saying to another person can be understood, in all emergency situations so that the safety of patients/clients, other employees and other individuals who are in our facilities conducting is not jeopardized.
