Why Join Us | DuPont Careers DuPont's Water & Protection is recruiting for an Industrial Electrician to join its dynamic team located at its manufacturing site in Buffalo, NY.Yerkes Buffalo is the North American manufacturing home of Corian solid surface products, introduced in 1968 and the founding manufacturing location for Tedlar polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) films, introduced in 1961. As an Industrial Electrician you will perform all phases of installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of electrical and instrumentation systems. This position typically operates on a rotating schedule. This is a bargaining union opportunity; those selected may be expected to join the local union. RESPONSIBILITIES DESCRIPTIONYour key responsibilities will be/what you'll do:Repair, adjust, and install electrical equipment including but not limited to: programmable controllers and recorders, transmitters and transducers, motor control centers, power lift trucks, building lighting, heating, AC and ventilation equipment, electrical motors, complex electronic devices, control panels, relays, conduit and switches Troubleshoots and repairs complex problems: visually inspects diagnoses and observes electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems. Changes-out and repairs AC/DC electric motors and parts, relays, solenoids, and terminal strips Disassembles equipment to gain access to problem, using crane, hoists, hand tools, power tools, hammers, pry-bars, etc.; examines parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear Uses blueprints, diagrams, repair manuals, calipers, micrometers, scales, and other measuring instruments as required This position has a current starting rate on days of $38.06 and will increase to $41.87 once assigned to shifts. This position is part of a bargaining unit and shift schedules may change based on the bargaining agreement. JOB QUALIFICATIONSRequirements:Minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent and 2+ years of experience as an Electrician, Maintenance/Control Mechanic or similar in a manufacturing environment is required Able to understand and interpret the National Electric Code Able to troubleshoot and maintain 12V-480V system A successful candidate will be able to meet the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation, including: Willing and able to work a 24/7 rotating shift schedule including holidays and weekends as well as overtime, sometimes on short notice. Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
