Our caring and passionate team at Passages has successfully helped thousands of people struggling with drug and alcohol dependency.We're looking for someone to join our team as a Licensed Vocational Nurse who assists with patient care and performs Incidental Medical Services.Position: Licensed Vocational NurseLocation: In-Person, Port Hueneme, CaliforniaThis position works an Alternative Workweek Schedule of 12 hour shifts, 3 days per week alternating with 4 days per week.We offer a robust benefits package, including student loan repayment assistance and a tuition reimbursement program.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Duties may include but are not limited to the following:Assess client current health condition and identify health problems and/or needsPerform physical assessment including vital signs of clients in detoxificationPerform Incidental Medical ServicesMonitor client detoxification level using the Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment (CIWA) scalePerform instant/rapid read alcohol and drug screensComplete documentation in the client chart in a thorough, timely, legible, and accurate mannerAssess client for medication side effects, including adverse drug reactionsAssess client throughout their stay to determine their response to care and significant changes in the clients conditionEnsure all medications are locked safely and retrieved for self-administration by clientObserve and monitor self-administration of medication by clientsProvide safe and effective care for clients identified to be at risk of injury to self or othersCommunicate effectively with outside physicians and other appropriate parties in order to plan, deliver, and evaluate careEnsure residents compliance with facility rules and guidelinesoccasional driving as duties dictate, which may include transporting clients.Other duties: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.Qualification Guidelines:Education / Experience / License:Current, valid License in Vocational Nursing in good standing with the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric TechniciansAssociate of Science in Nursing or LVN Nursing Certificate from an accredited programCurrent, valid California Driver License with good driving record (as determined by the Company) requiredPhysical Demands:Stand and walk for long periods of time throughout facility while carrying and using electronic devices and equipmentSit for periods of timeBend, twist, reach frequentlyLift up to 20 lbs. occasionallyAbility to work using a computer for extended periods of timeAbility to recognize facesAbility to distinguish colors as necessaryAbility to hear sufficiently and speak clearly on the phone, in person, and in the environment, identify and distinguish sounds associated with the workplaceAbility to communicate with others by telephone, email, and personal interactionAbility to see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to the positionAbility to perform CPROther Requirements:Travel between company locations in Los Angeles and Ventura counties is required as company needs dictate.Must satisfy post-offer, pre-employment conditions such as tuberculosis screening (annually thereafter), background check (including criminal and driving record check), drug screening, reference check.
