🔹 Data Engineer – SAP FI/CO & Cloud Data Platforms 🔹🌍 We welcome international candidates based in LATAM who are open to relocating to Barcelona📌 About the roleWe are looking for a Data Engineer with hands-on experience working with SAP financial data models to join an international technology environment.In this role, you will work with SAP data structures, particularly around Finance / FI-CO modules, and help integrate, transform, and optimise SAP datasets for downstream analytics and reporting.You will work alongside Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to design robust data pipelines into modern cloud data platforms.This is a hands-on Data Engineering role, ideal for someone with strong Python, SQL, ETL/ELT, cloud data platform experience, and a foundational understanding of SAP financial tables and relationships.SAP is currently one of the key focus areas, but you will also be part of a broader data team working across different business domains and internal initiatives to continuously improve processes, methodologies, and daily engineering practices.If you enjoy working with SAP data, financial reporting use cases, cloud data platforms, dbt, Airflow, and modern data stacks, this could be a great fit.💻 What you’ll do🔹 Understand and work with SAP financial data models, including key tables and relationships such as BKPF, BSEG, ACDOCA, COBK, and CDS Views🔹 Identify which SAP Finance tables and structures need to be extracted for reporting and analytics use cases🔹 Design and build reliable ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and load SAP data into cloud-based data warehouses🔹 Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand financial reporting needs and translate them into scalable data solutions🔹 Develop clean, reusable, and analytics-ready data models using dbt or similar transformation frameworks🔹 Automate data workflows using Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools🔹 Work with cloud data platforms and services such as AWS S3, Glue, Redshift, or equivalent technologies in GCP or Azure🔹 Maintain data quality, integrity, documentation, and governance practices across data workflows🔹 Work with structured data from SAP and other enterprise systems🔹 Support the integration of SAP data into modern data stacks for analytics, reporting, and business decision-making🔹 Collaborate closely with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and business teams in a hands-on engineering environment🔹 Contribute to internal initiatives aimed at improving processes, methodologies, automation, and team efficiency💡 Must Have🔹 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-focused role🔹 Strong proficiency in SQL🔹 Experience with Python for data engineering tasks🔹 Experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines🔹 Understanding of SAP financial data structures and interrelationships, especially within FI/CO modules🔹 Familiarity with key SAP Finance tables or concepts such as ACDOCA, BSEG, BKPF, COBK, CDS Views, or similar🔹 Ability to understand how SAP tables connect and which data needs to be extracted for financial reporting🔹 Experience working with structured data from SAP or other enterprise systems🔹 Exposure to cloud-based data platforms, ideally AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, or similar🔹 Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or similar🔹 Experience with dbt or similar data transformation frameworks🔹 Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills🔹 Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders🔹 Fluent Spanish and English✨ Nice to Have🔹 Experience integrating SAP with modern data stacks or cloud data warehouses🔹 Familiarity with SAP BW or SAP Data Intelligence Cloud🔹 Exposure to ABAP to analyse SAP transactions and translate them into ETL processes🔹 Knowledge of SAP FI transactions such as FBL5N or similar🔹 Experience working with AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, or related data services🔹 Experience with GCP or Azure data platforms will also be valued🔹 Understanding of financial reporting processes and finance-related data flows🔹 Experience implementing data quality, governance, and documentation practices🔹 Previous experience working in international or multi-domain data environments🏢 Hybrid model – 2 days onsite per week in Barcelona📍 This role is based in Barcelona.
