Safety Specialist

The Safety Specialist is responsible for overseeing compliance issues under local, state, and federal agency control for Health and Safety management. The Safety Specialist will work closely with management to ensure areas of risk management continue to be monitored and managed within set standards.Hours/Shift: 3:00PM - 12:30AM. Flexibility needed to cover when other staff is on PTO, at training, etc.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.Administer all STF safety programs.Monitor, train and audit EPA and OSHA compliance.Review all safety training materials.Provides training for the production employees and management.Creates, supports and implements strategies to establish and improve safety compliance.Facilitate safety committee meetings and team engagement activities.Conducts compliance and safety audits; performs incident investigations; root cause analysis and identification of corrective action plans.Participate in job safety analyses.Participate in internal audits and floor observations to ensure compliance with safety standards, requirements and expectations.Serve as a strategic business partner to cross-functional departments, aligning safety goals with operational objectives to drive a safe, productive workplace.Respond and provide assistance to all emergency situations.Keep up-to-date on new safety methods and procedures to applicable codes and regulations.Be a participant in the facility HazMat response team, and lead site response activities.Able to be flexible with schedule at times to cover staff vacations, leaves, etc.Other duties as assigned by Safety Manager
