Environment, Health and Safety Manager (Bilingual)Position SummaryThe Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for leading and advancing all safety and environmental initiatives across the facility. This role ensures a safe, compliant, and proactive work environment aligned with company standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements.As an individual contributor within a food production setting, this position focuses on implementing and sustaining safety programs, driving corrective actions, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Success in this role requires strong communication across all organizational levels and the ability to effectively administer policies in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program, including procedures, training, and equipment control.Champion a Zero Injury culture by promoting safe behaviors and proactive hazard identification.Monitor production floor activities, identify risks, and partner with frontline leadership to implement hazard mitigation strategies.Develop, deliver, and track safety training programs, including onboarding, toolbox talks, and ongoing education.Conduct and support site inspections, audits, and Safety Layered Process Audits (LPA).Maintain accurate safety records, logs, and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.Support and sustain core EHS programs, including Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), PPE compliance, and safety procedures.Lead incident investigations, ensure timely reporting, and drive corrective and preventive actions to closure.Collaborate with managers and supervisors to implement and sustain safety initiatives across departments.Ensure all chemicals are properly documented with up-to-date Safety Data Sheets (SDS).Monitor contractor compliance with EHS policies and training requirements.Support site security and emergency preparedness initiatives.Facilitate continuous improvement efforts, including safety-focused Kaizen events.Provide first aid response as needed.Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive safety culture throughout the organization.Core CompetenciesResults-driven with strong attention to detail and organizational skillsEffective communicator with strong interpersonal and collaboration abilitiesCustomer-focused mindset with a high degree of ownership and accountabilityStrong observational and problem-solving skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentAction-oriented with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesQualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)Minimum 5–7 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food productionBilingual (English/Spanish) requiredStrong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance requirementsOSHA 10 or 30 certification required (or ability to obtain)Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferredExperience with safety management systems and incident investigation processesProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong time management and ability to meet deadlinesWork EnvironmentExposure to varying temperatures, including hot, cold, and humid conditionsWork in areas with moving machinery, noise, and airborne particlesMust adhere to all safety protocols and wear required PPEFast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines
