Role Overview
BEPC is seeking a *Manufacturing Processing Operator* to support our client’s production of liquid pediatric and medical nutritional products in Sturgis, Michigan.
This hands-on manufacturing position is responsible for preparing, operating, monitoring, and documenting batch-processing activities while maintaining strict *Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)* and quality standards. The role involves working with computer-controlled manufacturing systems, handling and weighing raw ingredients, operating cleaning and heat-treatment processes, maintaining accurate production documentation, and performing routine cleaning and equipment-related activities.
Candidates should be comfortable working in a highly regulated manufacturing environment, performing physical material-handling duties, following detailed work orders and procedures, and working a *12-hour shift from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM*.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, operate, monitor, and document *computer-controlled blending processes* used in the manufacturing of liquid pediatric and medical nutritional products.
* Weigh, document, and stage batch ingredients using a *computer-controlled weighing system*.
* Physically lift and handle raw ingredients throughout weighing, staging, and manufacturing processes.
* Prepare, operate, monitor, and document *Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems* used to clean manufacturing equipment, including tanks and heat-treatment systems.
* Prepare, operate, monitor, and document *computer-controlled heat-treatment processes*.
* Prepare, operate, monitor, and document *bulk slurry processes* supporting blending operations.
* Perform and document production-line activities, including standardization and final-water operations involving ingredients, flavors, oils, and other materials.
* Receive and transport bulk raw ingredients, CIP chemicals, and other production materials as required.
* Follow detailed batch work orders, job procedures, manufacturing instructions, and established operating requirements.
* Accurately document manufacturing steps and maintain complete production records.
* Maintain *GMP compliance* through routine cleaning of manufacturing equipment and production areas.
* Assist with preventative maintenance activities for production equipment.
* Monitor manufacturing processes and respond appropriately to changing production conditions.
* Maintain product quality, cleanliness, safety, and GMP standards throughout the shift.
* Work collaboratively with team members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Perform “A,” “B,” or “C” processing functions as assigned and qualified.
* Perform and support additional work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
*Required:*
* High school diploma or GED equivalent.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Basic computer skills and the ability to work effectively with computer-controlled manufacturing systems.
* Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with manufacturing equipment.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team.
* Ability to follow detailed work orders, operating procedures, and manufacturing instructions.
* Ability to maintain accurate production and manufacturing documentation.
* Ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
* Ability to comprehend manufacturing information, make timely decisions, and apply problem-solving skills.
* Ability to maintain product quality and GMP compliance throughout production activities.
* Ability to perform the physical handling and lifting of raw ingredients associated with weighing, staging, and manufacturing operations.
*Preferred:*
* Some college coursework or vocational/technical education.
* Previous experience in *food manufacturing, nutritional manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or a similar batch-processing environment*.
* Experience working in an environment with a significant emphasis on *Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)*.
* Experience operating or monitoring *computer-controlled manufacturing or batch-processing systems*.
* Experience with blending, ingredient weighing/staging, CIP systems, heat treatment, or similar production processes.
