Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts with patient ratios of 1:3-4 • 36 or 48 hours per week available with 13-week contracts • Every other weekend requirement • Float to sister ICCU unit as needed • Minimum 2 years of experience required, accepts first-time travelers • Must have strong drip experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips • Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH stroke scale • Must pass EKG testing prior to start • Experience required with IV starts, telemetry, conscious sedation, PCU/stepdown units • Must be skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration • Experience with central line care, PICC lines, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy management • Handle post rapid response patients, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, GI bleeds • Manage post-op patients from various surgical procedures and pre/post OB complications • Work with vasoactive drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Levophed, Dopamine • Use bedside telemetry monitors, A-lines, chest tubes, and tracheostomies • Chart in Epic system with Pyxis medication management • Dress code: Navy, white scrubs or combination of both • Hospital orientation required first week with mandatory daily classes • Maximum 7 days RTO allowed, must work 2 out of 3 major holidays • Cannot work more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week Facility: This healthcare facility operates a 20-bed PCU that functions more like an ICU stepdown unit, providing intensive monitoring and care for patients requiring higher acuity services. The unit maintains an average daily census of 18 patients and specializes in caring for post rapid response patients, those with respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, and various post-operative cases.
