Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field, Adapted Physical Education (APE) certification, and 1+ years Adaptive PE Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.Make a difference for middle school students by fostering inclusion and movement as an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) provider for the 2026-2027 school year. In this rewarding contract role, you will travel district-wide in Springfield, MA, supporting students who require Adaptive PE services across several middle school campuses. Your expertise ensures students of all abilities can participate and thrive in physical education, promoting their physical and social development.Key Requirements:Valid Adaptive PE certification/licensure (if applicable)Experience providing APE services in a school setting, preferably with middle school studentsDemonstrated ability to support students with disabilities, tailoring activities to individual needsStrong collaborative and communication skills to work closely with educational teams and familiesCapable of offering both direct instruction and consultative services in diverse school environmentsReliable transportation for travel throughout the districtExcellent time management and organizational abilitiesMust pass a drug screening and complete fingerprinting/background (CORI) checksConsistent punctuality; must notify school and recruiter if illness prevents attendanceRole Responsibilities:Deliver engaging, adaptive PE activities for identified studentsConsult with faculty to design and support inclusive physical education programmingTravel between various school locations as requiredMonitor student progress and maintain clear documentationCollaborate with IEP teams and participate in required meetingsEnsure safety, accessibility, and a positive learning environment for allYou'll work approximately 2 to 2.5 days per week alongside a passionate school community and dedicated support teams.
