Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. This contract position offers the opportunity to work full-time, 37.5 to 40 hours per week, traveling to multiple locations within the district to deliver specialized instruction and resources for students with visual impairments. By creating accessible learning experiences and empowering students to achieve their highest potential, you'll be an integral part of a dedicated educational team.Qualifications and Desired Experience:Valid teaching credential with appropriate endorsement for Teachers of the Visually ImpairedStrong background in instructional strategies for visually impaired studentsExperience adapting curriculum, materials, and technology for diverse learnersExcellent communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teamsAbility to travel between multiple school sites as part of daily responsibilitiesPassion for fostering independence and academic success among visually impaired studentsKey Responsibilities:Provide direct instruction and consultation services to students identified as visually impairedAdapt and modify curricular materials using braille, large print, or assistive technologyConduct functional vision assessments and collaborate on individualized education plans (IEPs)Serve as a resource for educators and families, offering guidance on accommodations and accessibilitySupport students in developing self-advocacy, daily living, and orientation/mobility skillsMaintain compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines for special educationThis assignment begins in the middle to late August and runs through late May or early June, aligning with the forthcoming academic year calendar.
