Primer will ready them for the next.About The RolePrimer is seeking an enthusiastic and responsible Aftercare Program Guide to manage and engage students during the after school program.The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children between kindergarten to 8th grade, fostering a safe and fun environment, and contributing positively to the school community.Part-TimeSchedule: Monday through Friday, 3:15 PM - 6:00 PM, during the school yearCompensation: $26.67 per hourStudent Safety Commitment: Student safety is Primerʼs most important responsibility to families. It is critical that Aftercare Guides know where students are at all times, understand emergency procedures, and ensure that every student is safely picked up by an authorized person.ResponsibilitiesSupervise and engage all students enrolled in the Aftercare program.Ensure student safety at all times by knowing the location of all students and following authorized pick-up protocols.Implement structured daily programming aligned to the aftercare schedule.While schedule is subject to change, it may include:Opening Circle: snack time and daily connectionPhysical Activity: staff-led activities that supports healthy movement and teamworkAcademics: student-choice academic time (e.g., educational boardgames, reading, book clubs)Skill-Building Activities: games and challenges that promote real-life skillsAdapt activities to meet the needs of your group and the space availableBuild positive relationships and maintain respectful communication with students, families, and school staffUnderstand and follow emergency and safety protocols outlined by the school leadershipMaintain a clean, organized, and welcoming aftercare environmentQualificationsHigh school diploma or higherPrior experience working with children and creating engaging, age-appropriate activitiesCommunicates clearly and professionally with students, families, and school staffDemonstrates responsibility, reliability, and a positive attitudeCan effectively manage time and resources to create a smooth and enjoyable aftercare experienceWilling and able to complete state database fingerprinting, a background check and Mandatory Abuse Reporting trainingPrimer is a mission-first company.
