Facility: Mercy Hospital of Buffalo Shift: Shift 1 Status: Per Diem FTE: Bargaining Unit: CWA Local 1133 Exempt from Overtime: Exempt: No Work Schedule: Days with Weekend and Holiday Rotation Hours: 7:00am - 7:00pm Summary: Under the direction of a Radiologist and/or a Site Manger / Director, performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the application of non-ionizing high frequency ultrasound waves. After post hire training, an Ultrasound technologist will demonstrate the ability to, and perform, a variety of technical procedures at a proficient level. Ultrasound technologists will participate in after hours and weekend call rotations as required by site specific expectations. Responsibilities: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CREDENTIAL Graduate of an Approved School of Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Ultrasonography Registered as an Ultra sonographer with either the ARRT or ARDMS Registered as a Vascular Technologist with one of the following credentialing organizations: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Vascular Sonography RT(VS) American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) BLS Preferred One (1) year experience as an RVT required Registered as an ARDMS (RVT), ARRT (RT-VS), or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS). Registered as an Ultra sonographer with either the ARRT or ARDMS If no applicants have one (1) year experience as an RVT, the applicants meeting the following criteria will be considered next: Graduate of an Approved School of Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Ultrasonography Registered as an Ultra sonographer with either the ARRT or ARDMS Registered as a Vascular Technologist with one of the following credentialing organizations: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Vascular Sonography RT(VS) American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) BLS Preferred No experience required Registered as an ARDMS (RVT), ARRT (RT-VS), or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS). Registered as an Ultra sonographer with either the ARRT or ARDMS KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY Good judgment Analytical ability Excellent attention to detail Responsible Ability to work unsupervised Ability to interpret data and draw conclusions Excellent interpersonal and communication skills WORKING CONDITIONS Good general health necessary in order to stand and walk most of the day. Must have the ability to pull, push, and lift patients and equipment. Participate in site rotations where applicable, see site specific department requirements ENVIRONMENT Normal heat, light space, and safe working environment; typical of most office jobs. Occasional exposure to one or more mildly unpleasant physical conditions. Intermittent exposure to a few unpleasant physical conditions. Frequent exposure too many disagreeable physical conditions.
