Senior Accountant

Position OverviewThis newly created position reports to the Assistant Controller and is responsible for supporting the financial statement close cycle. In addition to general accounting functions, the Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring that the costs associated with manufacturing are recorded in accordance with GAAP. This is a remote role.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist with monthly, quarterly and year-end close, and other internal reporting requirements including preparation of required journal entries.Perform or review account reconciliations related to inventory, cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, debt, leases.Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to track labor and overhead costs and ensure they are recorded in accordance with GAAP.Prepare and analyze inventory valuation, including WIP, raw materials, and finished goods under GAAP.Monitor production costs across commercial manufacturing, including raw materials, labor, overhead, and batch-level expenses.Develop, maintain, and analyze standard costing models including ability to liaise with external consultants as necessary throughout process.Maintain documentation of cost accounting methodologies and internal controls.Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP.Assist in audit readiness and documentation, including SOX compliance.Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.Minimum 3-4 years of work experience in accounting, or public/privateBig-4 or Mid-Tier auditing experience and / or CPA license (preferred).Experience in manufacturing or production environments with proficiency in cost accounting principles.Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite highly preferred).Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
