Regional Controller
Regional Controller – South Plainfield, New Jersey The Regional Controller oversees all financial aspects of assigned business unit, lead financial reporting, manage internal controls, and provide financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making. This collaborates closely with business leaders, and focuses on driving profitability, cost management, and performance optimization. ResponsibilitiesOversee the all financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timelinessPrepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAPManage revenue recognition for service contracts, I&T, monitoring, and project workPerform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and financial reviewsAnalyze variances in financial performance against budget, forecast, and prior periodsParticipate in the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes Develop financial models to evaluate business initiatives, investments, and pricing strategiesServe as a trusted financial advisor to business unit leadershipProvide actionable insights to improve margins, cash flow, and return on investmentSupport contract review, capital expenditure analysis, and resource allocation decisionsMonitor and control operating expenses, headcount, and capital spendingIdentify risks and opportunities; recommend corrective actions to meet financial targetsDrive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting efficiencyManage, mentor, and develop finance staff supporting the business unit (if applicable)Collaborate with Corporate Finance, Accounting, FP&A, and other cross-functional teamsPromote a culture of financial discipline, transparency, and accountabilityQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required7+ years of progressive accounting experience3+ years in a leadership roleExperience supporting project accounting, WIP reporting, and recurring service revenueMulti‑branch or private‑equity‑backed company experience is a plus CPA and/or CMA strongly preferredWilling to travel regionally 25% of the timeFire protection, life safety, construction, facilities, or service‑based industry experience a plusStrong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standardsExperience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skillsExperience with Sage Intacct and/or Service Trade software systemsExperience with acquisitions, integrations, or rapid growth environments
