Founding Software Engineer
About UndauntedWe’re deploying robotic security to make communities safer so people can thrive. Backed by Atlanta Ventures and Fuse VC, we’ve become the largest robotic security company in the US in just over a year. We have 100+ robots in production, and we’re just getting started. What You’ll DoWe operate the largest fleet of Unitree quadrupeds in the United States. As a founding robotics engineer, you will be responsible for building features that ensure maximum fleet uptime, fleet management, and the infrastructure to power our robots. You will be shipping software, and occasionally embedded software solutions. You will work directly with our Undaunted dashboard, Unitree Go2 Pros, and our Undaunted security payload. You will also work closely with our hardware and Mission Control teams to ensure tight integration and company-wide adoption of new features. As an early-stage startup, our needs change rapidly, and we expect you to adapt when those situations arise, wear many hats, and be an ultimate team player. That said, we envision the following:ImmediateWe are working on several strategic initiatives to ensure maximum fleet reliability, visibility into fleet health, and bedrock infrastructure for future projects. Examples of features you may own:Migrating our fleet away from any signaling that passes through Unitree (Chinese) serversPipelines to send our live video feeds to the policeData collection, visualization, and alerts infrastructure for better visibility into the biggest issues with our fleetYou’ll work directly with customer feedback from early deployments to inform design decisions and guide further iterations. The infrastructure you build will also serve as a technical foundation for our longer-term efforts, including agentic AI tooling and software for a custom quadruped.Beyond:You will contribute to the design and development of AI and agentic AI tools to enable our Mission Control team to respond to incidents faster and more effectively via both hardware and software.Agentic camera monitoringAgentic robotic patrolsMaintenance and improvement of current systemsWho we are looking for:We are looking for someone who meets our company values:Customer-First: We anticipate needs and will go any length to make our customers incredibly happy.Team over Self: We put the team’s goals and collective success ahead of personal agendas or ego.Conflict is Love: We love our teammates and champion them, but the best way to show love is stepping on toes, disagreeing, then making up.Scrappy: We don’t let perfection get in the way of “good enough.” Speed of action and iteration solves all problems.Radical Doers: We set outrageously ambitious goals then we focus our actions on clear goals and measurable results to achieve them.Technical ExpertiseWe’re looking for software engineers who can leverage AI to move faster, but can describe the systems they’re architecting from top to bottom. We also want someone who has strong project management/and or architectural and systems design experience.
