Nurse - Substitute

Terms of Employment:Responsible to the Assistant Principal of Student ServicesLocation: Upper or Freshman CampusDaily Schedule: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (may vary based upon the needs of the department)Hours Per Day: 8 hours per day, including a 15-minute paid breakUnpaid meal break: 30-minuteHourly Rate: $29.13Benefits: Not eligible for medical benefits or paid leave. Minimum Qualifications:Current Illinois Registered Nurse credentialsStrong computer skillsMust be detail-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent time management skillsAbility to work efficiently under minimum supervisionMust respect the confidentiality of sensitive informationMust possess the physical strength to occasionally assist in lifing students. Must be able to bend and perform CPR as needed. Responsibilities / Duties:Must perform all responsibilities in a professional manner consistent with district policy and practicesAccurately store and dispense medicationConsult with teachers, parents, and team membersNotify parents and building administrators regarding students who are severely ill or injuredProvide first aid to students and staff as neededAssume authority to provide emergency care for ill and injured students on school premises until emergency personnel arrive, under the supervision of the building administrationOther relevant duties as assigned Physical RequirementsRequires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.Ability to move freely and perform duties in numerous locations throughout the day (involving the ability to stoop, bend, and reach as needed).Ability to occasionally move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.Exposure to noise and activity of a school setting and as needed in noisy and crowded environments.
