Start:August 10, 2026Terms of Employment:Responsible to the Assistant Principal of Student ServicesLocation: Upper CampusCalendar: 180 days + 6 float days as assignedDaily Schedule: M-F, 7:00 am - 3:30 pmHours Per Day: 8 hours per day which includes a 15-minute paid breakUnpaid meal break: 30-minuteHourly Rate: TBD*Benefits: Eligible for medical benefits and paid leave. IMRF participation is required.*The 2025-2026 starting hourly rate for a Nurse is $29.13. The 2026-2027 starting hourly rate for a Nurse will be updated upon finalization of the new collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Minimum Qualifications:Current Illinois Registered Nurse credentialsStrong computer skillsMust be detail-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent time management skillsAbility to work efficiently under minimum supervisionMust respect the confidentiality of sensitive informationResponsibilities / Duties:Must perform all responsibilities in a professional manner consistent with district policy and practicesMaintain student health recordsFacilitate student health assessment/screenings (hearing and vision)Complete medical reviews/ health historiesAccurately store and dispense medicationConsult with teachers, parents, and team membersWrite and maintain health plans and medical 504'sNotify parents and building administrators regarding students who are severely ill or injuredLead professional development training to all staff as assigned (ie. Diabetes Training)Submit accurate and timely reports as required by various health agencies and the stateAssume authority to provide emergency care for ill and injured students on school premises until emergency personnel arrive, under the supervision of the building administrationOther relevant duties as assignedPhysical RequirementsRequires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to move freely and perform duties in numerous locations throughout the day (involving the ability to stoop, bend, and reach as needed). Ability to occasionally move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials. Exposure to noise and activity of a school setting and as needed in noisy and crowded environments. Must possess the physical strength to occasionally assist in lifting students. Must be able to bend and perform CPR as needed.
