Paint Operator

Shift 1 - 6am - 2:30pm JOB PURPOSE: Applies paint or powder coat to parts according to customer specifications and inspects own work to verify conformance to customer and quality requirements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reviews all documents relating to the job at hand. Paint surfaces with spray guns and/or electrostatic spray guns. Cleans and prepares surface of articles to be painted or powder coated. Understanding of cleaning station (Pressure Island). Able to perform titration and keep up the solutions in accordance with specifications. Must wear PPE (respirator required) while performing operation. Keep log records and able to follow work instructions and engineering drawings. Continually monitors and is responsible for the quality of their work. Stacks parts on a pallet without instruction. Inspects own work for conformance to meet quality requirements. Completes production documentation and related paperwork. Keep all work areas clean and organized. Daily and weekly maintenance on all machines. Report any safety or maintenance concerns to management immediately. Technical support or help another team member, if necessary, under supervision of supervisor. Commitment to all safety policies and regulations always. Maintain workstation to 5S standards. Other duties may be assigned by lead or Supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 1-3 years prior experience in paint prep is preferred. Commitment to all safety at all times. Must past respiratory test and able to work with fitted respirator during work shift. High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience preferred. Familiarity with sheet metal parts is preferred. Ability to read and understand basic work instructions, engineering blueprints and specifications. Good organizational & communication skills. Keen eye for detail. Proactive, reliable, and a team player. Ability to work in a diverse environment and be sensitive to issues of diversity and inclusion. The employee is occasionally required to lift and climb balancing. Frequent walking, bending, lifting, and reaching. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Occasionally exposed to risk OD electrical shock. Exposed to moving mechanical parts, humid condition, fumes or airborne particles, flying metal burrs and chips and possible chemical irritants such as water-based coolants, hydraulic oils, degreasing soap and mineral spirit.
