Software Engineer – Business Performance & Analytics (BP&A)$130,000–$180,000 Base + BonusLocation: Chicago, ILExperience: 2–5 YearsAbout the OpportunityA leading global proprietary trading firm is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Business Performance & Analytics (BP&A) team. This role focuses on back-end development, automation, and building scalable tools that support finance, trading, and middle-office operations. You will collaborate with global teams to develop data-driven solutions, optimize business processes, and deliver impactful analytics tools.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain back-end applications and business intelligence tools.Build scalable data pipelines, dashboards, and visualization solutions.Automate workflows and optimize data processing and system performance.Partner with finance, trading, operations, and BI teams to deliver technical solutions.Support database development, system integration, and continuous improvement initiatives.Required Technologies & SkillsProgramming: Python, SQLFront-End: React (preferred)Cloud: AWS or other cloud platformsContainers & Orchestration: Docker, KubernetesCI/CD & Development Tools: GitLab CI, JiraAI-Assisted Development: Claude Code, Codex, CursorData Engineering: Data pipelines, database development, data processing, and visualizationAdditional Experience: Financial systems, AI/ML engineering, or business intelligence (preferred)QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, or a related quantitative field.2–5 years of professional software engineering experience.Strong back-end development skills with Python and SQL.Experience working in cloud-based and containerized environments.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to collaborate with global teams in a fast-paced trading environment.Compensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $130,000–$180,000 USDEligible for a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits, including paid leave and insurance.Please note: Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
