Hourly Rate: $23.56
Job Summary:
The Buyer is responsible for preparing requests for bids/proposals, including reviewing detailed specifications, evaluating bid/proposal responses, and awarding purchase orders following purchasing policies and procedures. Also processes small-dollar procurement requests. Provide customer service to all University clients, including assistance in obtaining product information. Initiates and monitors departmental blanket orders and contracts to inform departments of percentage usage through the year.
Performs other duties as assigned.
This position requires a background check.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree.
At least one year of related experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required skills and abilities:
Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including the ability to use independent judgment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in the use of computers, as well as word processing and spreadsheet software programs; particularly MS Word and MS Excel.
Must be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred:
Knowledge of electronic purchasing systems.
This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
