Power Controls & Information Systems EngineerLocation: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)Duration: 4-Month ContractPay Rate: $83.00/hour on W2 (C2C/1099 not available)Schedule: 40 hours/weekPosition OverviewThe Power Controls & Information Systems (PC&IS) Engineer supports the design, programming, maintenance, and continuous improvement of industrial automation and manufacturing control systems. This role partners closely with production and engineering teams to deliver reliable machine controls, improve operational efficiency, and drive digitization initiatives across manufacturing environments.This is a hands-on role requiring strong troubleshooting capabilities, practical controls experience, and the ability to contribute to both day-to-day operations and project-based automation improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and support industrial control systems including PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and automated manufacturing equipmentProgram and maintain PLC and HMI applications using platforms such as Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and FactoryTalk View StudioTroubleshoot, maintain, and optimize manufacturing line controls and machine automation systemsSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, material utilization, and cost reductionMaintain and troubleshoot industrial communication networks including EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, DH+, and Remote I/OInterpret electrical schematics and support troubleshooting of industrial electrical systemsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to implement automation upgrades and process improvementsEnsure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 79 standards and promote safe electrical practicesSupport instrumentation, measurement systems, and process control applicationsContribute to digitization efforts involving industrial networking, databases, and system integrationRequired QualificationsMinimum 3+ years of experience in industrial automation or manufacturing controls environmentsHands-on experience with PLC programming and machine controlsExperience with HMI platforms such as FactoryTalk View Studio or WonderwareStrong troubleshooting skills across automation systems and industrial networksAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentationWorking knowledge of OSHA 1910, NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 79Understanding of instrumentation and process control systemsStrong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skillsExperience working with industrial electrical systems including:480/277VAC 3-phase208/120VAC 3-phase24VDC and analog control circuitsPreferred QualificationsExperience with robotics, vision systems, or advanced automation technologiesExposure to industrial networking, databases, and IT/OT integrationProgramming knowledge in Python, SQL, Java, or XMLExperience leading projects or supporting cross-functional initiativesBackground in process optimization and continuous improvement programsWhat We’re Looking ForA hands-on controls engineer who thrives in a manufacturing environment, enjoys solving complex automation challenges, and can bridge the gap between shop-floor systems and digital/IT initiatives.
