As a Proposal Manager you ensure consistent management of all proposals through the “business process” through to study award. You have a ‘get things done’ attitude and will apply scientific knowledge, excellent communication and organizational skills in relation to the proposal process,including budget revisions.Your responsibilities:Overall management responsibility and accountability for the proposal development for specific accounts including coordination with Business Development, Project Management, Operations, Legal, Finance to prepare, review and negotiate proposals. Ensure a smooth transition of awardedproposals to the Contracts team, which may include budget revisions/negotiations to text and budgets for newly awarded projects.The role:You will support set-up requests for proposals in close collaboration with involved employees of global Cerba Research affiliatesWork closely and act as an intermediary between the Business Development Managers, Cerba Research employees and Cerba Research’s partner labsUse scientific background/knowledge to analyze the Customer’s needs and translate the service requirements into a business proposalContact clients as needed to discuss timelines, questions, expectations, deliverables, as necessaryLead, facilitate and add value to strategy meetings to:Identify issues and Customer requirementsIdentify key strategy team membersLead discussions to assure full and high-quality inputEstablish an agreement on timelines and deliverables from the meeting, and follow-up to ensure adherence.Write and create Customer specific proposal text to accurately reflect strategy discussions; to meet Cerba Research and Customer needs/expectations; assure accuracy and appropriateness of text and attachmentsPreparation of budget which reflects both Cerba Research and Customer needsAssure accuracy, consistency and competitiveness of budgetsFacilitate and lead in pricing discussionsEnsure appropriate and accurate mapping to Customer budget specificationsProvide quality Customer deliverables to strict deadlinesEnsure budget updates for ongoing projects by coordinating process control with the Finance and Project Management departmentsAnalyze current pricing and look for optimization opportunitiesAssist the Department Head BD and contribute in optimizing relevant workflow processes (e.g. Request for Proposal, Request for Information etc.)Ensure timely and accurate completion of relevant databases (Salesforce etc.)Participate in the development of testing of tools and proceduresParticipate in Customer calls/meetings for request for proposals/information/budget discussions/bid defense as necessaryYour Background (Education And Experience)Master’s degree in Science (Biomedical, Bio-engineer, etc.) is preferred > 2/3 years’ experience in one of the following environments: laboratory/CRO environmentSkills you'll need to be succesful in the role:You are an excellent communicator, both on the phone as face to face, open, clear and honest with a positive attitude; You have a strong sense of business acumen, you are capable and eager to combine both scientific and financial skills;The ability to lead meetings and have excellent negotiation skills;You are confident to deal with all internal / external customer on different levels;Comprehensive knowledge of relevant software: Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Databases; Experience in the CRO business (preferably central laboratory services) is an asset;Strong interest in pricing analysis and strategy with excellent numeracy skills;Above average organizational skills, with good time management skills and attention to detail an the ability to work towards tight deadlines;Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;Fluent in English;Experience in a financial oriented setting is a plus – understanding of cash flow and revenue recognition;Yo like to be part of a team and work together.About UsWe are Cerba Research and we are growing fast on a global scale.
